According to some Bad Archaeologists, the reason we can’t understand why the Nazis were so terrible is that we’ve overlooked the fact that their worldview was based on completely different principles from everyone else: theirs was based in magic, occultism and dark forces. Adolf Hitler was obsessed with the Spear of Longinus (part of the Hapsburg regalia that is supposed to have been the spear that pierced the side of Jesus when he was crucified) and it was the key to his initial success.
